The Hawkeye Community College Testing Center provides a welcoming, inviting and reliable testing administration in a professional and secure environment that facilitates academic success.
Students who are unable to take an exam during their scheduled class time will need to arrange with their instructor to make up their test through the Testing Center. Students, must request accommodations in a timely manner. Students are responsible to engage in ongoing communication and interactions with Student Accessibility Services.
All appointments need to be scheduled in advance by calling the Testing Center at (319) 296-4318. Please leave a message if your call is not answered immediately. Leave your name, number and who the exam is with.
Testing Expectations
Valid photo identification is required at the time of the examination. Acceptable forms of photo identification include but not limited to:
- Active Hawkeye Community College Student ID
- Non-expired Government issued ID (driver’s license or State ID)
- Military ID
- Valid passport
Testing Center staff will adhere to the instructor's testing instructions affixed to the exam. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the instructor prior to reporting to the Testing Center to gain an understanding of what materials will be allowed into the testing room; in addition to the expectation for being in the testing center.
Restricted Items
Before entering into the testing space, you will be informed all personal items and accessories will need to be properly stored. This is to protect the integrity and the professionalism of the Testing Center and to ensure your overall testing success. Additionally, you will be provided material (scratch paper) to work on before entering the testing space.
Appointments are required for all testing. Testing appointments should be made no less than 24 hours in advance.
In the event of testing irregularities (suspected academic misconduct), your instructor will be notified. Due to health, safety and liability risks children are not permitted in the Testing Center.
